The Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collection Day, originally scheduled for October 10th and canceled due to weather, has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to noon.

Beginning Monday, October 12^th, the outside southbound lane of Cherokee Avenue near the intersection of Cherokee Drive will be closed to repair a portion of the retaining wall adjacent to Weracoba Creek.  The closure is anticipated to last approximately one month.  Motorists are encouraged to proceed with caution and observe traffic control devices and personnel during the lane closure.

The Georgia Department of Transportation will host a Public Information Open House on Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 5–7 p.m. at the Psalmond Road Park Recreation Center, 6550 Psalmond Road, Midland, GA 31820.

City Officials will host a ‘Neighborhood Meeting’ on Thursday, October 22^nd at 5:30 pm at Asbury United Methodist Church, 2312 Ellen Avenue as part of the ‘All Hands on Deck Campaign’ to clean up our neighborhoods and our city.  We must get a handle on the uncleanliness of our community, and it will take “all of our community leaders and residents to make this happen”. This is just the start of getting this done through collaboration and coordination.
