The Columbus Police Department’s Special Operations Unit arrested two men following a recent narcotics investigation that led to the seizure of more than 16 pounds of marijuana, two firearms, and cash.

On April 20, 2025, Columbus Police Officers responded to Piedmont Columbus Regional in reference to a reported sexual assault of a child by a family member. The case was assigned to our Special Victims Unit for further investigation.

On Monday, October 6, 2025, around 8:16 p.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to a home in the 6200 block of Brookstone Boulevard in reference to a possible burglary.

***UPDATE*** On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, Antanavious Butler, 26, was arrested in connection with the murder of Norman Lane. Our Violent Crimes Unit and Special Operations members took Butler into custody without incident.

***UPDATE*** On Thursday, October 2, 2025, the Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit obtained warrants for three suspects in the Juniper Avenue shooting.

The Columbus Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit continues to aggressively investigate and address crimes that directly impact our community’s quality of life. In September 2025 alone, investigators arrested 28 individuals on a combined 220 charges.

***UPDATE*** On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, three additional suspects were arrested in connection with the death of Jacarie Charles. The Columbus Police Department’s Fugitive Unit took the following individuals into custody:

The Columbus Police Department is excited to announce the return of Operation Cops & Treats, a safe and family - friendly Halloween event for the community. The event will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the west parking lot of the Public Safety Building (510 E 10th Street).
