Rebecca Daughtry

Business Analyst

Rebecca Daughtry serves as the first Business Analyst for Columbus Fire & EMS. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems from Columbus State University, as well as a Leadership Development Certification. She is currently working towards the Fire and Emergency Services Analyst (FESA) designation through the Center for Public Safety Excellence.

With a background as an Enterprise Application Developer for Columbus Consolidated Government's Information Technology Department, Rebecca brings experience supporting, maintaining, and enhancing the City's applications and systems used across multiple departments.

In her current role with Columbus Fire & EMS, she analyzes business processes, system workflows, and operational data to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement. Her efforts support decision making, streamline daily operations, and contribute to the enhancement of the overall quality of emergency services provided to the City of Columbus.

Brian S. Dorriety

Deputy Chief of EMS

Brian S. Dorriety currently serves as the Deputy Chief of EMS for Columbus Fire and Emergency Medical Services. He has served the department since 1996, progressing through the ranks and attaining the permanent rank of Battalion Chief in 2023. In 2026, he was appointed to the position of Deputy Chief of EMS, where he oversees the EMS division and manages the billing and revenue processes associated with emergency medical services, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and sustainability of EMS operations.

Deputy Chief Dorriety also leads several innovative community health initiatives, including the Columbus Correct Care mobile integrated healthcare program and the Right Site program, which provides 911 call navigation and on-scene physician-supported telehealth.

Deputy Chief Dorriety is a nationally registered paramedic with dual certifications in both Georgia and Alabama. He has earned an associate’s degree in Fire Science from Chattahoochee Valley Community College and associates in EMS Leadership from Georgia Southern University.

Deputy Chief Dorriety holds many certifications to include Fire Officer 1, 2, and 3; Fire Instructor 1 and 2; Paramedic Instructor; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor; Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor; and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor. Chief Dorriety also serves as the Regional Trauma Advisory Council Coordinator and the Regional Stop the Bleed Coordinator, Instructor.

Deputy Chief Dorriety has recently obtained his Chief Fire Officer (CFO), Chief EMS Officer (CEMSO) credentialing through the Center for Public Safety Excellence. His professional affiliations include the American Heart Association, Georgia Emergency Medical Service Association , the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), National Association Emergency Medical Technician (NAEMT), and the Georgia Trauma Commission(GTC) and The Trauma Foundation. He is known for his integrity, his collaborative approach, and his dedication to advancing the fire service through evidence-based practice, mentorship, and strategic leadership.

Daniel Hord

Assistant Fire Chief

Daniel Hord currently serves as the Assistant Chief for Columbus Fire and Emergency Medical Services, a position he has held since 2026. He has served the department since 2004, progressing through the ranks and attaining the permanent rank of Battalion Chief in 2019. In 2020, he was appointed Deputy Chief of Operations, where he oversaw operational readiness, response delivery, and field operations for the department.

Chief Hord also served as Deputy Chief of Resource Management beginning in March 2022, where he was responsible for budget development, capital planning, fleet and facilities management, and technology initiatives before transitioning back into the Operations role.

Chief Hord holds certifications as a Nationally Registered Paramedic (NREMT-P), Rescue Technician, Hazardous Materials Technician, and Public Safety Diver. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master’s Degree in Public Safety Administration from Columbus State University. He is also a credentialed Chief Fire Officer (CFO) through the Center for Public Safety Excellence. He completed the Fire Service Executive Development Institute (FSEDI) in 2026 and is currently pursuing his Executive Fire Officer (EFO) designation.

Daniel S. Macon

Deputy Chief of Community Risk Reduction

Daniel S. Macon currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Community Risk Reduction for Columbus Fire and Emergency Medical Services. He has served the department since 2002, progressing through the ranks to Battalion Chief. In 2018, he was appointed Division Chief of the Training Division, followed by his promotion to Deputy Chief of Training in December 2020. In 2022, Chief Macon assumed the role of Deputy Chief of Operations, and in July 2025, he transitioned to his current assignment, where he also fulfills the responsibilities of Fire Marshal.

Deputy Chief Macon holds numerous professional certifications, including Paramedic, Rescue Technician, Hazardous Materials Technician, and Public Safety Dive Instructor through the National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI) International. He oversees the department’s special operations teams and serves as one of four Task Force Leaders for the Georgia Search and Rescue Task Force 9. His academic credentials include an Associate Degree in Fire Science, a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Education, and a Master’s Degree in Management and Leadership from Troy University. He is also a credentialed Chief Fire Officer (CFO) through the Center for Public Safety Excellence.

Quincy Miller

Division Chief of Administration

Quincy A. Miller currently serves as the Division Chief of Administration for Columbus Fire & EMS. He has served the department since 2006, rising through the ranks and gaining broad experience across operational, training, and administrative roles.

As Division Chief of Administration, Chief Miller serves as the department’s Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE) Accreditation Manager and the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP) Paramedic Program Director, providing executive oversight of accreditation compliance, program governance, and continuous quality improvement.

Chief Miller holds numerous professional certifications, including Paramedic, Rescue Technician, Hazardous Materials Technician, Georgia Smoke Diver (#868), Public Information Officer, Incident Safety Officer, Fire Instructor II, and Fire Officer IV. His professional background reflects a strong foundation in both emergency operations and instructional leadership.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Services Administration and a Master of Business Administration in Public Administration from Columbia Southern University.

Chief Miller also serves as a Senior Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force Reserve, where he holds senior enlisted leadership responsibilities overseeing education, training, and medical readiness. His military service reinforces his commitment to discipline, accountability, and servant leadership.

Deputy Chief of Resource Management

Brian Nobles currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Resource Management for Columbus Fire and Emergency Medical Services. Deputy Chief Nobles has served the department since 2006, rising to the permanent rank of Battalion Chief. In 2021, Chief Nobles was appointed to the position of Deputy Chief.

Deputy Chief Nobles has obtained certifications of EMT-I, Hazmat Technician, and Rescue Technician. He has an associate degree in Fire Science for West Georgia Technical College and a bachelor’s degree in Fire Service Administration from Columbia Southern University. He is a credentialed Chief Fire Officer (CFO) with the Center for Public Safety Excellence.

Roland Sandoval

Division Chief of Health and Safety

Roland Sandoval has served on the department since 2004 rising through the ranks and promoted to his current position of Division Chief of Health and Safety in February 2025. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Fire and Emergency Management from Kaplan University.

Chief Sandoval has obtained the certifications of Paramedic, Rescue Technician, Hazmat Technician, Public Safety Dive Instructor and Ga Smoke Diver. Serving in training division as a training officer and was the lead paramedic instructor for the paramedic program. After being promoted to Captain he served as the Rescue Coordinator for the department overseeing the training and equipment for all the department’s Special Operations. Chief Sandoval also serves as a Strike Team Leader for the Georgia Search and Rescue (GSAR) team that is housed in Columbus.
