Columbus City Council Approves Anti-idling Measure
November 6, 2007 - The Columbus City Council unanimously approved a measure calling for operators of heavy-duty city vehicles to turn off their engines when they’re not needed. The resolution calls for drivers of heavy-duty city-owned or leased vehicles to kill their engines and not let them idle for more than five minutes unless they are in traffic or such idling is needed to perform necessary work or respond to an emergency.
